WORKING PERFECTLY - NEARLY 2 WEEKS

My cable modem, router and ethernet port on the motherboard disappeared after a thunderstorm. FRIED. I've taken care of other things, but I had no intention of going out and buying a new motherboard or returning it (unless something else is a problem). So I turned to this solution and it works completely as advertised. The speeds coming through the adapter and through the USB port are the same as before - actually better since my cable company came in and fixed my cable lines (see screenshot showing my speed test). I just received it so I can't comment on durability. However, will it work from the start? Yes, completely. UPDATE (12 DAYS LATER): Well, now I can talk about its durability. After a few days the ethernet connection started to lag until I wiggled the adapter key and the connection was stable. Today it is completely out of order. Today, after 12 days of continuous use, I died. It is EXTREMELY warm to the touch and the red LED indicates it is on. My computer recognizes it as connected. However, no data is transmitted. It will not connect to my cable modem via Ethernet. However, the same computer can be connected to the same modem over Wi-Fi by connecting a Wi-Fi antenna through the same USB 3.0 ports. VERDICT: DO NOT BUY. There are many great reviews here. In fact, if I only used it lightly I would extend its apparent lifespan of 280 hours. But it's not durable enough, not even lasting 2 weeks with constant connection. The higher ratings here are mostly from casual users (probably) who can only use this when WIFI connection is not available. Look for another solution if you need this as the main connection.
