Review on Fantasia Premium Sketch Pencil 6Pc by Jessica Lewis

I just can't say enough good things about these watercolor pencils! They are made in Indonesia. The cases (round, satin finish, dark grey, with lid, approx. 4.7 mm) are locally grown from sustainable Pula wood sources and by a local farming and forestry cooperative. (Check out their website for the fascinating story of the symbiosis.) The cores are wax, just under 4mm in my measurements and well centred. I haven't sharpened them yet because they are pre-sharpened to a fine sharpness and last a long time. The pigment adheres to the paper and leaves very little dust. They layer and blend very well and pair beautifully with white and black pencils for a wide range of shades and tones. The cores are about the same consistency as the FC Polychromo, hold up well without cracking when working with parts, and have no scratchy parts popping out of the cores. no pencil marks! Colors do not cloud when mixed and remain predictable. A six-hour lightfastness test showed no noticeable fading, although there are no lightfastness ratings for these sticks anywhere. Perhaps the best thing about these pens, I think, is what makes some people unhappy - they DO NOT REACT when exposed to water. The colors may not seem very saturated to some people, but the fact that they don't reactivate means you can add another coat to deepen the color after they've dried without affecting the first one, very similar like Derwent pencils. Please note that they are not activated. have color names (unfortunately!), and the numbers are not in the right order. I've given them names on my color chart for you to use if you'd like. I've tested them on Strathmore 100lb colored pencil paper with a Derwent water brush, as well as on several popular coloring books.
