Awesome Watercolor Pencils

They arrived packaged in a metal can. Shrink wrap inside. The pens are great. The paint lays down well and when activated with water, it lays down well. I've tried some cheaper pencils that leave a pencil line after activation, this isn't the case. This set is my backpack throw and set. The tin is fine but I have a pencil case that I transferred it to along with some water brushes. The only downside is that there are only 36 colors. DISCLOSURE: No one has given me anything to review these pens.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!

These are very good pens but the glass is not the same as in the photo

Very good pens but the glass is not the same as in the photo. Like others, I received an orange jar and the pins inside have a gray body but still "premium" on the ends. Maybe they changed the packaging? When I received the pencils they were all misplaced but stuck behind the plastic and one of them had a broken tip. I wish the packaging was better but they seem to have survived. The pens themselves are very hard but the color is nice. They are so smooth and sharpen very well. I also have a set

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Excellent pens for such a price. The tin is good and makes transport very easy. Highly recommended for color lovers. I have lots and lots of colored pencils starting from an old 72 color Prismacolors set, a 150 color Prisma set, 120 Faber Castel Polychromos sets, 36 Lyras, all of which I babysit and take care of. These Fantasia pencils are so good that my nieces don't get offended if I let them use them. I would also like to add that they color much better after I sharpen them for the first…

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Annoyed

Decent pencils. on pencils

I bought a set of Fantasia colored pencils to use on the go for drawing and artistic coloring as there is nothing worse than losing art quality pencils. This set is small, 36 colors and packed in a tin. While there may not be as many pens as in other sets, this set has a really good range of colors. The leads are soft, not as soft as Prismacolor but certainly softer than most budget pencils. sets with decent brightness and can handle multiple layers and blends. The barrel is round and black…

It takes time to build up a very dark shade

I would give them a higher rating but I've only used one other brand of watercolor pencils and that was Staedtler Karat. I was attracted to these watercolor pencils because they get wet and the main lines of the pencil are not visible when wet. They give a nice smooth layer of pigment if you apply water with a brush and move the pigment across the paper. They also release pigments when rubbed against damp paper if you are careful not to tear or rub the surface with a pencil point. I like to dry

Good cream sticks

I like these sticks, they are nice and creamy, lie well and hardly flake. Pencils are sharply sharpened, hold the edge well, do not crumble when coloring. I also like the tin packaging. I only have two calluses from them. There are no color names on them. I understand that many companies don't do this, but it annoys me a little when I'm making samples and I don't have a color name, just a number. Another issue I encountered was the packaging. Although the glass is of good quality, when the pens

Great pens at an unbeatable price!

I am shocked at how much I like these pens considering the price. To be honest they behave very much like my polychromy, which is a lot is surprising! Cannot replace them on some points like color choice and lightfastness which Fantasia doesn't have but honestly they have now replaced my trusty Steadtler Ergosofts as my travel pencil! Pigment/Layering/Blending They apply pigments easily and beautifully! Sets like Derwents are drier and require a lot more effort and layers but these are softer…

Pros
  • Pack of six 7" long drawing pens.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I just can't say enough good things about these watercolor pencils! They are made in Indonesia. The cases (round, satin finish, dark grey, with lid, approx. 4.7 mm) are locally grown from sustainable Pula wood sources and by a local farming and forestry cooperative. (Check out their website for the fascinating story of the symbiosis.) The cores are wax, just under 4mm in my measurements and well centred. I haven't sharpened them yet because they are pre-sharpened to a fine sharpness and last a…
