Review on Shure A27M Stereo Microphone Adapter by Christopher Cheek

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It took a bit to set up but once you do you have reliable

Adjusting the ORTF down for guitar/other portable instruments took some time with my limited stick stand but was still much better than with my old spacer bar. Construction. (I used the pole that came with my mics, which was pretty difficult to tighten and would come loose unless I actually squeezed it. I also had to use a spacer to lift a mic so I could position it properly. It worked, but I wouldn't want to move it at all after setting it up.) The design of this thing is like a tank and it's very smooth to operate. I bought this adapter with two Shure A53Ms and the total price was ridiculously high (about $150 with tax), but at least they work well together. I don't think you can use this that easily with large shock mount mic mounts, so the A53Ms are essential if you need this capability. So in the end I'd stick with that awful mic pad you have if you're never going to move it. , but if you ever want to take it off and try different configurations, then this is very important. The design really shines when you want to make minor adjustments after the initial setup. My old adapter made these fine adjustments very annoying.
