Lost Kayak: Kayak, Canoe & SUP Racks
We bought these to fit on VW crossbars and carry 2 kayaks. The tethers failed at highway speeds, causing one of two kayaks to be thrown out of the car and luckily crashed into a ditch against another car's windshield. We had to stop several times to tighten the straps and between the straps and the J-Bars the remaining kayak was still unsecured even with anchor lines. Garbage. The kayaks don't fit snugly and the straps suck. An extremely stressful and potentially dangerous situation could have been avoided with a quality product.
