My son is 12 years old and the large hat fits him but the gloves are too big. Although the girth of his head was always increasing. The measurements they gave were correct for the Bolshoi. They warm, but are not water-repellent. It is made of 95% acrylic and 5% spandex. I washed hot and dried hot just to see if they would shrink and they didn't. There is no scrub either. Surprisingly, they're not static, but it's not winter yet. He likes them and will wear them, which I think is the most important thing.
