I've tried different LBE settings. I once had a problem after injuring my knee. honestly. i got fat I no longer have to run two miles every morning. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 215 pounds. Now it's hard for me to find gear because I have a belly but no ass. Now I wear suspenders on my pants to keep them in shape. This creates a problem with the LBE because the straps want to slide down and sag. When I was young and in the military I used old Alice style harnesses. I started trying this but the loose strap issue was annoying, especially when paired with a backpack. I switched to a vest/belt. I had two problems with that. 1) The belt interfered with the backpack waist belt. 2) The vest caused an overheating problem. (I live in Southwest Oklahoma where it can get very hot.) I finally tried this bib. I liked the open front and back approach as it is well ventilated. It fits my plump body quite well. He makes a very durable impression. One of the great things about this rig is that there is plenty of room for the rig on the waist belt of my pack. They don't bother you at all. The downside is the limited space. I changed my layout from four single-deep M4 mag pouches on the front to two slim mag pouches, each holding two mags. This created enough space for me to carry two mag pouches, a map pouch, an IFAC pouch and two bottles around my waist. The left shoulder strap has a KA-BAR D2 extreme inverted, the plastic shell fits perfectly into the horizontal clips on the shoulder strap. I had to use paracord to tie the sheath to the loop on my shoulder. It only took two seconds and it looks like it was made for it. On my right shoulder I have a mini angle head flashlight. (Pistol and survival kit on platforms with flip-up legs that are completely independent of chest armor and out of the way.) This is just to give you an idea of how much you can reasonably carry. without overdoing it with chest gear. I was concerned that without a gun belt, the weight might be an issue on my shoulders. It's surprisingly comfortable considering what I've got. Admittedly, I think my intuition helps a little here. My guts take some of the weight like a waist belt. Someone with washboard abs might feel more stress on their shoulders than I do in this setup. Advantages: durable and lightweight, excellent ventilation, comfort, fits large physique, does not interfere with backpack straps, -----------------------Addition: I have bladder expansion . I was worried it wouldn't work with the backpack, but it actually seems fine. In addition, the entire installation still feels comfortable even when fully occupied.
