This lens is far superior to others. Yes it's heavy and yes it's manual but for macro photography you should only focus manually. This photo of a small bud on a bush, no bigger than a pinhead, was taken just 10 minutes after receiving the lens. No, it's not a perfect photo, but not bad for straight unboxing. If you want to remove the center tube, it simply unscrews and you get a wider workspace. Since my version is for Fujifilm and my XT-2 in particular, Fuji offers some great tricks to get focus every time. Don't let this product sell out. Buy it!
