I bought one of these at a local hardware store about two years ago. I love it so much I wanted it in my work truck but my hardware store doesn't have it anymore. So I paid extra to buy it from Revain, price was about the same but when you add shipping, fine. I buy this tape measure because of the bright orange color, I can find it when I need it. But the small size is also practical. I like my 30' x 1' tape measure with a stiff blade, but they don't fit in my overall pocket. This little Lufkin's blade will stretch about 42 inches, maybe a little more, before it flops. more, which is normal when I'm working on a table saw, radial saw or drill press. I had 1 inch blades that extended 8 feet and were comfortable to use when you needed them. I know a little bit about tape measures, I started carpentry training in 1968, back then about half the boys used Lufkin tape measures and the other half used Stanley tape measures. Lufkin's have been around for a long time.
