The Epiphan guys recommended this article to me when I needed to connect a DVI2USB3 frame grabber to a computer monitor . From my demo computer the video goes to the splitter and from there to the monitor and Epiphan unit. This allows me to display a live image in addition to the signal coming to my Mac I'm recording on. The signal quality is good. Sometimes I have connection issues that require restarting my Mac, but I doubt it's splitter related. Remember, this thing has a glowing blue LED, so have a piece of tape handy if that bothers you.
