I bought these because I loved the pattern, I didn't even notice that they were darkening, heavy and thermal.Huge bonus!They are beautiful AND keep out the heat extremely well! The windows in my kitchen are pretty bad and it gets hot in the summer even with central air. It's a pain to wash dishes sometimes because the sun beats down and through the window making me really hot really fast. These curtains help tremendously. So glad I bought them and I am getting one for my other window.
