Review on Park Tool Professional Wheel Truing Stand, Blue: Premier Precision for Perfect Wheel Alignment by Dave Wheeler

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Factory assembly sucks.

Heads are not trued but you can true them if you buy your trueing gauge! Truth?! For the price it is sold for, think you are buying a fairly accurate instrument but you are not. As a previous reviewer remarked the stand was delivered VERY off center! It is immediately clear this is a Chinese product only. Luckily mine had Brother a centering gauge for his stand which I borrowed to set up, in that price should be a basic centering gauge especially as centering is not guaranteed.a random spot not centered if that was your goal. The collars, holding the arms in the middle weren't even close enough far enough apart, so initially as you extend your arms in and out you can see one arm moving, while and the other just sits. not even screwed evenly onto the shaft. I was able to fix this by pulling the left arm all the way back and then bringing it back in at exactly the right moment determined by the position of the right lateral arm. Don't even get me started with an extra cheap slanted base. Should have just gone with one of the cheaper Chinese brands with decent reviews as I ended up just tweaking a lot myself as you would expect to have to deal with cheaper brands.

Pros
  • Struts fit up to 29" wheels with or without tires
Cons
  • I'll write back later
