Disaster Averted

I did my research like any good consumer would and made sure before purchasing that this upgrade would fit my 2014 RAV4. I inserted the SD card into the car's GPS slot and started the engine. The display has recognized the new card and started the download. After 15 minutes the system rebooted and my normal display returned. After about 5 minutes the whole system hung. No GPS. No radio. No bluetooth. No cellphone. It showed the map when the machine restarted, and sometimes it changed location, but nothing else. It was like that for a week. Due to the pandemic, the car drove no more than 15-30 minutes a day. Although their replies were very short and not helpful, the seller did reply to my emails and verified the SD card and brand of my device. Model. In the end they agreed to refund my money. I made an appointment with the dealer the next day, disappointed that the repair was going to cost me so much more. A few hours before the meeting I started the car and all systems were working again. I don't know what happened or why it took so long, but everything worked again and I made sure the GPS map was new. I decided to keep the new SD card. Keep in mind that if you leave your vehicle running, it can take several hours for your system to process software updates and a new map.
