Review on 🏠 My First Home by Kaytee by Meg Manzanares

I bought this cage as a second 'running' cage for my 4 female rats when I was doing a major clean or renovation of their large Double Critter Nation cage so I didn't want to spend a lot Money. But I want them to be comfortable if they have to spend about an hour there. The spacing between the bars is not ideal for long term use by female rats as I believe they could squeeze through the 1 inch gap. But mine won't be left unattended so I think it will be fine for my use. simple, except for the brackets that need to attach the base to the cage. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get them to log in properly. So instead I use zip ties to attach the base to the cage and it should work fine. Even for the money, it's a shame Kaytee doesn't give you the right clips for the job. Also, you really need more than two. Door modification may also be required. as it is very easy to open. Just like now, any of my rats just standing at the door will easily open it. This is a decent cage for the money but as other reviewers and I have said it may need some modification to make it livable and safe.
