Works well, good headphone Level

Exquisitely packaged product made from formed sheet steel with a beautiful, slightly textured finish and clear bright white lettering. The PROZOR D/A converter accepts optical or coaxial digital audio in a variety of formats and outputs analogue audio for connection to external devices. For me, I wanted a headphone output from a TV that was optical only. Easy to set up, this adapter is powered and offers fully adjustable levels, clarity and quality. Enough power to rock heavy, full-size on-ear headphones. These are Electrostatic Dynamic Monsters AKG K340s from the 1980's. I had to supply my own headphone adapter cable which took the 1/8" (3.5mm) telephone jack (RTS) and enlarged it to the standard 1/4" to interface with my antique glasses. The device is powered by 5V DC via the USB micro connector on the device. The kit includes a Micro USB to USB-A adapter (full-size standard USB 1.0/2.0 connector) that is approximately 14 inches in length. My latest 16x9 LED TV model is typical of 2018 products and lacks many of the I/O ports of previous systems. There is always no audio output on these displays, although there is an internal tuner for HD video transmission. Most people do NOT want to use the poor quality full range micro speakers that come with inexpensive LED TVs. Analog sound is best placed on an external amplifier and heavier speakers. This digital-to-analog converter delivers this connection perfectly. Small and compact, it powers what is almost always nearby on modern video monitors and connects to optical or coaxial networks. The package also includes a short satisfying optical audio cable. Please note that the new optical audio cables have a silicone protection over the metal shell. This prevents scratches on the fragile fiber optic tip. Remove the protective silicone film before plugging in the cable, otherwise you will force the PCB connector out of its holder. PROZOR D>A has a red LED indicator on the back when receiving 5V from USB. There is no way to turn it off from the device. This would be a nice feature with a volume potentiometer knob. The coaxial input is a standard single RCA connector. There is no coaxial cable included. In addition to a 3.5mm headphone output, it also offers simultaneous consumer-grade line-level audio on the two rear RCA jacks. The front panel volume control does not attenuate the rear RCA line level output. I ran this device for hours without overheating or crashing. It is compact and a good addition to your troubleshooting bag. Highly recommended.
