Review on Dorman 901 440 Window Switch by Djkutt Kent

I bought this switch and 5 years later it broke. I contacted Dorman about my warranty and they said to contact Revain. I knew there was trouble. I contacted Revain and was told the returns department would send me a new switch but that would be in 2-4 weeks. Grrr. But what could I do. I was told to follow my email for instructions. I get an email today (about 2 weeks after this all started) saying I need to verify my address as it has changed for 5 years. They say give them a call or use the link to check it out. Since there was no number in the letter!?!?! I click the link. I "chat" with the computer for a while, and then I see a tab where I can actually talk to someone. Big. I speak to a Revain representative and they say they can't help me, it's outside the return window. Yes, I understand that, but IT COMES WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY. Okay, then they say I have to call Dorman. I called them and they told me to call you. Okay, let me talk to my manager. The boss made an exception. I got lucky! woo hoo! They will be credited to my account once I return the old switch. Okay, I could have done that a few weeks ago. So I check and the price of the device has gone up, now I've lost $15 on a product covered by a LIFETIME WARRANTY. All right, let me talk to my manager. Oh, we made, you guessed it, one more exception. Hooray! Hooray! I got lucky! I spend hours and hours of my time and finally get ALL my money back to get another piece. Oh, that's AFTER I sent the old one back. So the moral of the story, yes, it's a lifetime warranty, but you could spend a lifetime trying to get one, and maybe a few gray hairs along the way. Many thanks to Revain for providing my "exemptions" and honoring my guarantee. I am happy. I WILL NOT SPEND TIME ON AMAZON OR DORMAN.
