A plastic spiral comb works well for soft hair when less hair product is used.
I have soft hair so it took a lot of trial and error to curl my hair. When my hair was dry and I used too much hair product, it built up in the holes. My hair was messy and the strands were sticking together! Wet hair and some curling and blocking gel was the right combination for my soft hair. I also had to place the comb on my palm and make circular motions. The curve became more defined as I applied more pressure a second time.
