The DWA-140 moniker really refers to two distinct models. The Ralink RT2870 chip, version 07d1:3c09 07d1:3c0a, built with a Ralink RT3070 processor. Before you go and download a different driver, make sure you know which one you have. Both variants are referred to in the system as DWA-140. The benefits: 1. Supports Ubuntu and Fedora (just choose the right driver). The only cheaper option is an acorp. About heat: 3. It doesn't have enough time to warm up for an 8-hour workday. Distinct drawbacks: One, the sensitivity is average, therefore you'll probably need an extension stand (not by chance in the kit).
