I had a Motorola DOCSIS 3.0 modem that started failing about a month ago, so I looked around and found that reviews of most modems are pretty mixed. Some got hot, others broke right out of warranty, but overall they all scored about 75% 5-star ratings, so I figured they were relative. Having been so lucky to replace my wireless router with an ASUS router, I decided to go with this one and it has worked so far. I called Spectrum and everything was ready in 30 minutes (20 of them on standby). It works great and offers a much more stable signal; However, I was hoping it would be closer to the 100Mbps I'm paying for since my $200 WiFi router supports 1Gbps and this modem supports 686Mbps. A stable 67Mbps is for mine Needs fine but I was a bit disappointed hence the 4 stars. I'm not sure if other modems offer faster speeds, and I'm sure it offers speeds close to 100 when connected directly. and constant pace. If anything changes I'll update my review but for now I'm happy as hell.
