I assume they will work in a 100% dry environment but I got them to hang some very light items on my bathroom walls (shower cap, headband and small mirror). The walls there are the same as the walls in my room, with the same color etc. However, this is my bathroom that I use every day and when I use the shower there will of course be steam in the room. , like in any normal bathroom, when someone takes a shower. I set one up, let it sit for 24 hours as instructed and then hung a small mirror from it, probably under 1lb and the hook pack says it can hold 2lbs. It stood up and stayed in place, no problems (yet). Then I hung another one in a different spot in the bathroom but still on the same wall. I let him settle down, but less than five minutes later he fell. I went and put it back with a new piece of tape and the same thing happened so I gave up. I took my first shower today after hanging my first mirror hook and maybe 20 minutes into the shower I heard one fall off as well. Fortunately, the mirror is cheap and durable. I think even the mirror part is plastic lol and I didn't hear it break so I'm pretty sure it's ok. But these hooks don't stay in the bathroom at all.
