After much research into basement dehumidifiers Alorair seems to have become one of the top manufacturers. I have a medium sized crawl space, but the fairly small entry hatch limited how big a car I could buy. This one is too small for my square footage, but it was the only one that fit through the 13 inch tall hatch. I tried it and it does its job perfectly. wet summer season so I won't know what it can really do until next year. However, over the course of the day it lowered the humidity level underground from 70% to the 50% I set. The only caveat I would add is that the company's customer service feels like a family business, despite having a fairly large online presence in a niche market. The device I received had a huge label on the side that said Sentinel HDi65 Wi-Fi. There is an LED for Wi-Fi on the control panel. The user manual also says Wi-Fi. Problem. There are no instructions for setting up Wi-Fi: When I finally reached support, they said the device didn't have Wi-Fi. When I asked why everything says wi-fi, they replied that it was mislabeled and they would be happy to send me another sticker that doesn't say wi-fi. Yes, they also pointed out that neither their website nor Revain claim that this model has Wi-Fi, but still. Don't they have a quality control department? How could nobody notice all the Wi-Fi references and realize that this thing doesn't actually have Wi-Fi? In addition, the device has both a gravity drain and a pump. If you're not using gravity feed, you'll need to cap it with a drain plug, but my unit didn't have one. Customer service told me they would send one but I haven't seen it yet. However, they sent me two replacement filters, although I have no idea why. I didn't order them and there was no packing list or anything like that. Were they a peace offering? I couldn't tell you All in all, great product, good price, good customer service. Next, I'll order a wired remote so I don't have to go down the damn underground and tweak settings anymore. It's a bit pricey but either that or I leave out the ice to make sure I can still get through the hatch without getting stuck.
