I think this product would get better reviews if it came with instructions. Instead, the sides and lid were wrapped in seran, and the hooks and other pieces were in small zipped pockets. That's all that's included. Yes, this grow box is quite clear. You need to remove the protective plastic and everything will be clear. When I figured out how to assemble the box I was impressed with the structure and strength. It took me about 5 minutes to assemble. It only goes together in one direction. Use rubber bands to secure the panels. After assembly, it nestles snugly against the tank and hardly moves. I use it for mama shrimp and only time will tell if the shrimp are small enough to fit through the holes. I give him 4 stars. With instructions and an easier way to remove the protective film, this product can easily get 5 stars.
