Bought for Nikon 200-500 lens. Everything was fine at first, although I had concerns about the bracket on the mounting screw. I would prefer Allen's head. I've gotten away once so far. I'm not sure I would hang a string there. It only fits one way, backwards (for me the lip needs to be in the front), no big deal except the lip is a bit shorter than I'd like. I also have a Desmound DPL-70 on my Tammy 70-200 2.8 and it still fits, but the lip is also a bit short. Back to the DPL-85, I now have a Nikon AF-S teleconverter. TC-14E II, which shifts the lens forward by about an inch. So the 85m plate really isn't long enough to balance my Acratech GV2 ball head. It works pretty well with a bare lens and my D-800, but not for long enough when I add a teleconverter. Otherwise everything looks good, reasonably well made and well finished.
