Review on πŸ”§ Effortless Installation: Kuat Grip 4/6 Direct Mount Kit - T Channel Mount by Chris Budenski

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A small "mod " goes a long way

Same problem as previous reviewer - short screws. There are Cayenne factory roof rails with slots that are slightly curved. Use a Dremel tool to reshape the underside of the mounting blocks to match the outline of the bars, eliminating the boom dead space under one side of each mounting block and also reducing the length of screws required. The short blocks are great for low profile mounting. if skis / boards can be mounted with the binding side up. For my application the short blocks are too low to accommodate ski bindings pointing down towards the roof - the pano glass sunroof. The higher lasts are suitable for applications where the full power of the Grip 6 and dual skis with up and down bindings must be used. Consideration was given to using longer bolts and cutting them to length, but contouring the pads to match the handlebar profile resulted in a more "polished" setup. No doubt Kuat does not support the modification, but requires it depending Contour only very little material removal and curvature of the crossbars.
