Review on SAMSUNG DA47-00301D Refrigerator Defrost Thermal Fuse - Genuine OEM Part by Marley Woods

Simple cheap fix so worth a try

I tried to solve the icing problem by jumping through hoops on my Samsung RF18HFENBSR fridge as in AJ's test. Defrosting and Emptying the Fridge 1. I tried replacing the defrost drain first as it was the cheapest and easiest method. Still iced up after a few weeks. Defrosting and empty refrigerator 2: A specialist technician has identified a problem with the evaporator cover. I ordered and installed this part myself to save a few hundred dollars to avoid their markup and labor. The icing problem remains. Fridge defrost and drain 3: called the tech and he said it was either the control board or the defrost heater or both. Tried the control board first as it was the easiest to replace. The icing problem persists. Defrosting and emptying the fridge 4: I saw AJ's review and ordered a thermal fuse because it was cheap and relatively easy to install and did a damn good job of solving the problem. Note that this replacement is approximately 1" shorter but still fits into the evaporator grille near the original position. Tested by manually setting the forced defrost and the defrost element felt hot. If you are doing a manual fd, be sure to change this setting to a blank display. You can search Google for your refrigerator's model number and find instructions on installing a forced defrost (fd). Thank you AJ!
