Thick and strong! Now we have hardwood everywhere and we need pads to put under everything so the floor doesn't get scratched. We also have 2 young children which was a must. The padding is thick. It seems they never go flat, and when they do, it will be years and years before they do. Someone mentioned that they were a little hard to get off the pad and I would say they were, but just a little. Some of them are divided into 2 blocks with a common support. So if you fold the strap in the middle of the two straps, one strap will easily detach and the remaining strap will become the tab for the other. I tried cleaning the bottom of each leg, I applied the pads with alcohol before gluing them on. Some wooden legs absorb moisture very easily so I wouldn't put on too much or you'll have to wait a bit for it to dry or risk gluing it on while it's slightly damp. (I suspect it won't make it durable.) I've moved my counterbalance chairs many times with these cushions underneath and still haven't scratched hardwood that well. I like multiple packaging as I have different sized furniture legs. I tried cutting the larger piece into 2 pieces as the next down size was too small but I couldn't easily cut it. This should give you an idea of how thick he is. These dark brown pads matched my dark brown floors perfectly, but I think a neutral would work as well since I don't see/notice any pads. Will definitely buy again when I need to protect my floors from new furniture.
