I put an adult bike on this rack and rode it 500 miles and it was safe. Thus, it fulfills its function and protects the budget. It seems durable and well colored. You need to choose a 4" or 5" bolt for the clamp depending on the size of your bike's frame tube. On a bike with a wide tube, it barely opened wide enough for my frame to fit through and took a bit of fiddling. That means you need to have both bolts handy depending on which bike you plan to transport and try not to lose the second one. Not perfect. The lock doesn't seem to work, it doesn't prevent turning the handle to release the clamp. There are also two V-shaped plastic pieces that slide across the frame to accommodate the flex of the tire. Not a great design. The rear plastic stopper along with the rear one came off on the track and is now somewhere on the street. Never mind, they are not really needed to support the bike. The straps tying the wheels to the rack are fine, I would have preferred velcro. In general, everything is fine, there are better models. You pay for what you get.
