Good product, ridiculous manufacturer packaging

The headband is just big enough for my head at full extension. It works for me, but most other headsets I've bought or used have a little extra headband adjustment. The sound is a bit bass-heavy; not unnaturally exaggerated, just a little unbalanced. There is nothing that cannot be corrected with an equalizer. I think I've used most of the features of this headset. You can actually connect two devices at the same time; in this case a tablet and a Linux computer. (It wasn't easy to connect to audio from Linux, but it always has been and has nothing to do with the Jabra headset.) NFC pairing works as expected. I haven't tried making or receiving calls through the headset just because I rarely use my phone. I really like how the touch controls behave. The included USB and audio cables are wrapped in an unsightly bright orange fabric. The headset is charged via USB. Any USB charger should work; none are included. The left and right cups are marked on the fabric covering the drivers. I would have preferred the marking on the outside of the cups. I looked at the relevant Android app and declined to install it; I see no value (for me) in what native music apps offer on my phone or tablet. I don't usually notice the packaging of a product, but in this case I feel compelled to make an exception. The headset arrived in the manufacturer's packaging, which is a hard plastic case that weighs a fraction of an ounce over a pound. I'm not kidding: the packaging weighs more than the product. Speaking of the hard shell, this case is incredibly redesigned. I can tell you the suitcase will support my full weight of 210 pounds without bending, cracking or showing any signs of stress. Even the inside of the case has been redesigned, with a hard plastic stand that holds the headband in display position. The outer shell also has a soft plastic liner that has a purely cosmetic/tactile function. Finally, the top and bottom halves of this box are sealed with tape that is very difficult to peel off. I really hate it when the packaging description overshadows a good product, but this manufacturer's packaging borders on the ridiculous. No matter how annoying it is for me to mold vacuum shells, at least they have low mass. Jabra packaging is a *pound* of plastic that goes straight to landfill.
