I have this old aluminum popper and wanted a stainless steel option so I went for that. The pan is excellent - nice and heavy, heats evenly, pops great, easy to clean. But the lid is pretty cheap and cheap and seems out of place with the bottom! My old popper had a wonderful spatula that effectively stirred the popcorn kernels and made them move. This new popper has a thin wire instead of a paddle and sometimes the kernels and/or popcorn will get stuck and interfere or make mixing difficult. I want to use my old top with the new bottom, but the caps are not interchangeable. I don't know why they don't make a lid of the same quality as a pot. I would definitely pay more for a better lid! One star is only deducted because of the cover.
