They're supposed to be broken.
I've been using these with a Gravity mount on my mountain bike for a while now. Solid through tons of abuse on the way down. I've had to replace a few over the years when I collapsed with a hit to the computer hard enough that ripped the insert apart. That's what they're here for. You want the $7 insert to break, not the mounts on your expensive bike computer. I keep stock on the shelf.
