I put this sheet up to block the sunlight coming from a row of windows along the ceiling to let in light and heat reduce, and it works pretty well. Given the 5pm spring sun, you can close your eyes and most likely fall asleep, which is helpful if you have young children who sleep during the day. The feeling of heat is reduced by about 60%. The first film was difficult to apply, especially on a 40" x 33" window, so here are a few tips: Spray plenty of water (the more the lighter it appears) to avoid bubbles, and move from below and spread it with the tool provided. , Line up the top of the window, leaving 1/2 inch on all other sides that you can trim off at the end with the included cutter (since windows are made of glass, they won't get scratched). This way you avoid small gaps due to misalignment. Please note that the thin bottom plastic layer is difficult to peel off (I couldn't believe it!) so follow the instructions to separate it before applying. Before attaching, remove at least 6 inches of this plastic layer to the window, then remove the rest once the top is already "glued". Hope this helps!
