I will never go under my car again to change the oil (without removing the filter). Oil separators (with the exception of the filter) are a thing of the past. But with my current car, the VW Passat TDI Estate, everything is in the engine compartment: the oil dipstick, the oil filling and the oil filter. Everything is convenient for vertical service. However, some reviews of this device complained about the number of pumps it takes to actually remove the oil. It only took about forty pumps to work with 4.5 liters of oil.
