The part that holds the iPad is ok - it grips the edges but still allows access to the volume on/off buttons and charging port. Even the camera can be used for free. Thanks to its full height, the device can be positioned while sitting or lying down. It is convenient for surfing the web or playing games and can be positioned for watching movies/videos. Use it while standing in the kitchen to read recipes while you cook, or show off your music apps and use it as a music stand. The thing is, it's pretty convenient. If only the base of the stand was stronger. Mine broke so I used 1x2 oak and a shelf board to make a replacement for 3 legs. Now it is solid and even beautiful, stable and comfortable.
