It's cheap thin plastic but what do you expect for the price? I needed it to fit in a 2ft deep closet and it fits snugly on the side. Came with all parts. BUT the clasps are very flimsy. When fully loaded, the bedding is very uncomfortable to hold by the handle, as if the latches are about to break. If you don't wear your box often, you'll be fine or just wear it underneath. For this reason I would not use it for travel. In general I am satisfied with the purchase. My 8lb adult cat fits in well and isn't too tight. It took her a while to get used to the smell door, but it's removable.
