I bought the Roku 3 because I needed an HDMI connection. We used a Roku stick and it was fine, but we couldn't use our soundbar with the stick. 3 seems to work better because it's faster and the remote is way better than the remote that came with the stick which didn't work 50% of the time and had to be reset periodically. Here's how to properly connect your soundbar, Roku 3, and TV. Thank god for Google! I once read how to set it up correctly. Basically, the soundbar's HDMI input connects to the Roku and the HDMI output connects to the TV. That's all! Dead easy! I would recommend Roku 3 over Roku Stick. We've been using the stick for over a year and have encountered quite a few headaches. We have used 3 for a good month and have been very satisfied.
