I'm disappointed that this phone doesn't have some of the features that have been standard on other phones for years. Here's a short list of missing or underperforming features that VTech is keen to fix in future models. Ringer volume - all handsets are linked so changing the volume on one changes the volume on the other two and on the base. I really wanted my daughter's handset to be able to turn off the call at night so she wouldn't wake up when she called me after she went to bed. I also wanted the base's ringer to be muted so we only hear the handsets when a call comes in. There's nothing like running to the base station to answer the call and the handset is somewhere else. Message Alert - There is no visual indication (such as a flashing light) that a message is waiting. The handset screen shows if you have a message, but I don't pick up the phone when I walk through the door. My base station is in my office, so I don't always see the blinking light on the base station.3. Backlight Duration – The keyboard and screen backlights are bright enough, but turn off after 10 seconds. This is just my personal complaint as the phone works like it is in sleep mode. The battery life seems really good and the LED technology obviously works. So why skimp on this feature? Why not include a setting that allows the user to decide how long the light stays on?4. Speaker quality - wow! The speakerphone (no speaker) in this model is grossly inadequate. Turn the volume up above average and you'll think you're talking to a 1970's walkie-talkie. Really wtech? Don't have the technology to install the HD CLEAR speaker? When you read the spec sheet that says this model has the best HD quality, you might think you're buying a premium phone. I bet that models (from other manufacturers) that are much cheaper are not as cheaply made as this one. My kids' VTech toys have the best sound quality and volume boosting options! And yes, I've experimented with the equalizer settings.5. Not very intuitive navigation. Usually if there is a phone with a circular up/down navigation switch, isn't there a corresponding left/right function? And in most cases, isn't there a selection button in the middle to keep all the navigation buttons together? It's confusing for the first few hours, especially when most of us are used to the default setting. It is also particularly worrying that the 6 buttons required for navigation never light up. Then, once you've found the menu/sub-menu, there's often no indication of which button to use to return to the previous screen! Are you kidding me? Of course, eventually you'll find out that the Delete/Delete button does the job, but for people with technical issues, this will frustrate you. B. for navigating through the database. The shapes and names are so small and low in contrast that you really need to be in a well-lit room and wear reading glasses. It seems like VTech could use a lot more space to make it more user friendly. I gave this phone a 3 because it seems pretty average. As someone who has been selling electronics for years, I'm pretty good at these things. But the call quality is very good and the base does not interfere with my WLAN. For anyone using a Wi-Fi network, I strongly recommend DECT 6.0 as it operates on a frequency that networks cannot interfere with. The batteries in the phone last at least 3-4 days even without charging. The handset also works great as a handy flashlight when the power goes out. I only wish I had paid a lot less for it. If I ever find features to be different from my description, I will attempt to revise the rating to reflect any changes. I hope my review helps you!
