Update 4/18/19: I originally gave this 2 stars but changed it to 4 stars with caveats. Finally my cats will enjoy this box. Two reasons for 4 stars: 1) I found it too difficult to use the strainer function in this drawer due to sticky dirt sticking to the holes of the strainer tray and clogging it; 2) There is also an annoying "hump" in the middle of the bottom that interferes with scooping (again, because no colander is used). The plastic is of high quality, the lid also holds without locking. Even after changing my rating I would not buy again. Original: My cats (all 4) will not use this pot regardless of the type of litter. I removed the door, they still don't use it. I took the lid off and left it on for two weeks and still no use. I repositioned the tray so that it was parallel to the wall (so the longer side is now in front), again without the lid, and finally, after three weeks, the cats only used this tray lightly because I deliberately didn't pick up another one have boxes hoping to force them to use this box of fresh filler. I have not used the strainer feature of this box as my cats refused to use the box, but I agree with previous reviewers that the method of use should be in this order: fixed pan, strainer, fixed pan. The extra step required to screen and agitate unused filler seems better than removing sticky filler stuck in the mesh of the screen. . Once I start scooping thrice a day again, cats won't set foot in this tray. I do not in any way consider this pan "giant" or "huge" unless you are the size of a garden fairy. Perhaps the smaller size of this box is the reason for their dislike as it is quite small overall compared to other boxes they have used. The blue is a very nice colour, the baskets are well shaped, the lid fits well and the clasps are secure. I just can't recommend this without knowing why my 4 cats "chosen the one from the island".
