I think what I like most about this collar and remote is that the remote has a lock so I can't accidentally press it when I'm traveling or in my bag. There's a snap button for Electric shock, vibration, or beeper. My swimmers need a waterproof collar, but note that the remote control is not waterproof (it comes with a wrist strap so you can't drop it). The shock level goes up to 18, but I didn't even have to go halfway to get a positive answer. Shock and vibration are accompanied by a beep, so after a while one beep will be enough. Although I didn't want to use a stun collar, he quickly adjusted his relationship with my stubborn dog (all I have to do now is honk him... and now most of the time he doesn't even need to).
