The problem with most children's shirts is that they tend to be cropped and loose, as if they were a "husky" shirt. It's like clothing companies got lazy and didn't want to make two shirts for different body types. They're actually pretty standard t-shirts. You are a bit small. My 4 year old (almost 5 year old) wears a size 4 so we started buying a size 5 as he is almost the same age but that size 5 was definitely a size 4 so take at least one size up if you want it to fit now. when you buy it
