Review on Netgear WG121 Wireless 802 11G Adapter by Bob Schultz

Except for a few systems - the best

Please note that the Athlon processor and the VIA chipsets on the motherboard showed problems with this device. If you don't have them, my review begs the question of whether this is the best USB WiFi client out there. It offers more range than others and is very easy to install and set up. However, the software does not support WPA, so you must use a third-party WPA requester (understood as a client) or Windows XP's built-in WZC (zero wireless configuration). The device is fast, reliable and compatible. I tested it with thirteen different access points, as did all of the client devices I've tested, and it worked with all of them, delivering about the same throughput. This device isn't as fast as the Buffalo Cardbus Wi-Fi clients, but if you're using a desktop computer and don't want to connect a PCI card, this is the best way to go. I hope this helps you decide. .Tom Carpenter, Author of Wireless#, Father, Husband, Techno-Computer
