I was amazed at how sensitive this thing was. I used it on a suit that picked up ambient sounds (e.g. music) which I then distributed to a light display. But even when no music was playing, this thing could pick up the faintest sounds; As I placed it against my temple, I was pretty sure it was picking up the sound of blood coursing through my veins along with my heartbeat. That's fine if you don't want to mess with the gain control, but the fact that it "normalizes" the sounds around you has some implications that I haven't considered. First I programmed dimmer colors for quieter sounds; it made the whole exercise relatively pointless. First of all I haven't had a single problem with this thing - it worked as expected with no issues the entire time I was working with it. I am very impressed.
