Review on Petsfit Dog Car Seat: Pet Travel Booster Seat with Safety Belt, Washable Double-Sided Cushion, and Storage Pocket for Pets by Daniel Boudreau

Ordered this after my second dog injured his ACL this summer by jumping out of the car rather than waiting for help. The benefits are that it lifts him up (he's a King Charles Cav) so he can see and keeps him from jumping in and possibly falling out of the car seat. The downsides are that the durability for the price is not what I expected. My dog is 26 pounds and the pillow he sits on falls into the base so I had to use an old pillow underneath to keep him straight. The interior space under the seat cushion is made of thick cardboard covered with fabric; not sure how long it will last. The harness that came with the kit is weak, but my dog wears a harness so I used that to attach it to the seat instead of the harness that came with the kit. Before I bought this my husband and I measured the inside of the back seat of my Outback and Camry to make sure I could fit two comfortably as I have two dogs; Two people will not fit in the back seat. Frustrated with how expensive it is and the quality of the workmanship, I took a laundry basket, put some old pillows in it and threaded the harness for the second dog through the holes in the basket. I put an old blanket over the pillows to keep her paws from poking through the holes in the laundry basket. She is happy in her laundry basket/car seat and can see. She's unsure if the laundry basket is safe in the event of an accident, but she holds it up with straps and lifts it up to look out and lay down. Check the headrests to make sure they are adjustable in the back seat as my 2013 Camry doesn't have them which makes them difficult to use if you plan on using your dog with a harness other than the one that came with the kit is delivered to hold.
