The ARCTIC BioniX F140 fan spins at higher speeds than many competing 140mm fans, and it's also cheaper. It's also a bit louder. At lower speeds (<1200 rpm) the noise is not disturbing and only sounds like moving air. Unfortunately, at around 1620 rpm, the fan starts making a metallic grinding noise. It blows in the open air with no obstacles other than the screen. At 1800rpm, the sound of the fan motor and blown air drowns out everything else (but given the amount of air being moved, that's not surprising). The design of the fan matches the price. The bezel is flimsy, but it shouldn't matter if it's secured with all 4 screws. The fan has soft rubber pads near each screw mount that are said to dampen vibration, although I've never had any vibration issues when the fan was properly installed. The fan blades and hub feel just as good as more expensive fans. Cosmetically, the fan is available in a variety of colors. All black was sold out so I went for a slightly less conservative grey/black and here's what it looks like. Fan. It's not exactly your average black square PC fan, but close enough that I don't have to complain. This is certainly a matter of personal opinion, but I'm glad it doesn't have its own LED lighting. (I would have bought a Corsair ML140 instead, but Revain only had versions with LED lighting.) Overall, given the cost, I'm happy with the fan (as long as it works). I'm a little concerned. about metallic noise around 1620 rpm, but Revain has a great return policy if it fails early.
