Bought this head to replace my Manfrotto 322RC2 bit which I didn't like at all. I'm happy to report that this Induro head has met all my expectations. Separate pan, drag, and lock controls are excellent. Drag controls let you adjust it to the point you want for smooth movement, then simply rotate and lock it with the big knob. With my Canon 40D, the grip, two batteries and a 300mm f/4 lens mounted together, I found no play or slippage. The movement is smooth and silky. Compared to the Markins Q3, this head has more value, almost $150 less than the Markins. The Induro even comes with an Arca-Swiis style camera plate, which other manufacturers force you to order separately and costs over $60 in addition to the head. Do yourself a favor and get the Induro instead. Forget Markins, Arca Swiss, Gitzo and all the other extremely expensive heads. This Induro does the job and more.
