Review on Revolutionize Your Cubing Skills with the GoCube Connected Smart Rubiks Puzzle! by Terry Wright

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good action, terrible shape, application requires a lot of work

Cube moves well, magnets are nimble, corners cut well, but WHY WHY did they make it such an oddly shaped pillow with smaller edge parts?! I got it at least 5 seconds slower (about 35s on average) than on GAN. Software: I can't comment on the tutorial as I knew how to solve it, but other reviews seem positive. It would be great if it taught CFOP as an option when people learn the beginner method. Here are the issues I have with the app: I liked the idea of trials, but it's disappointing. I'm playing as a bot. It makes sense what the odds are that someone of your level will be willing to play at the right moment. You can see that in the opponents' stock photos, which always end the fight about 2 seconds after you. I'd be fine with that (I've seen it before in Quiz), but bots suck. In Hard (Rome) mode, I don't even come close to (bot)crazy beating everyone I play - they're only one turn away from victory in a very short amount of time, and then I'm declared the winner while I decide. The expert mode is just broken. The photo shows a match where the "opponent” did 1280 turns in 29 seconds, fell way behind me and somehow won without collecting the cube. It was in "hard" mode. I will say it helps me climb better. Usually I'm just a random mess. I'm sticking with it because I hope the software improves and maybe you'll find the real enemy more often when enough people get it.
