All screw perfectly into the heads, there is no grip as in.
I replaced the studs with these on two Ford 5.4 liter 3v cylinder heads that I was rebuilding. I had 4 broken studs so I put these in. They all thread perfectly into the heads, there is no grip like cheap fasteners and once I put the nuts on there is a nice smooth ride up to the specified torque and the nut is self locking. I can only recommend them, the quality looks and works well. The originals broke both heads on the last two cylinders so thermal cycling is the real test, hopefully they don't break or last long.
