For many years we bought Christmas Village buildings from a popular department store until we had enough space to display them all. Recently, prices have skyrocketed and quality has dropped to cheap pieces of plastic. And the once-popular store is clinging to keeping its doors open. To keep our tradition alive, we looked for small, handcrafted (or at least hand-painted) rustic buildings. This is one of them, for a small price it actually feels more traditional and adds a warm, homey feel to our rustic collection. There are two different elements on the page, mine is a brown building. Whether you like it or not depends on your expectations. I like it. The build quality and detailing is very good and seems worth the $20 asking price. Unlike many similar items, the bulbs in this one are completely hidden behind frosted window panes, so the effect is very soothing. The piece is small but not tiny and can be placed on a table or hung on a wall, which is perfect if, like me, you're short on desk space. On the back is the battery compartment (3 AA batteries - not included) and next to it is a slide switch with three positions for off, on and timer. The switch is labeled, but the product came with no instructions, so we had to guess what the timer position did. Unfortunately our switch doesn't work very well, the light doesn't come on until I move the switch properly. Some will automatically downgrade their rating to zero because of this, but I don't think that's fair to the 99% of customers who receive devices with a perfectly working switch. windows, it would be better if they were a warmer yellow. Also, I think it's worth considering.
