Bought for my 4.5 year old who is 39 pounds and 43 inches tall. Size 4 (not 4T) fits him perfectly. It has 4 pockets perfect for collecting shells on the beach plus a small 5th mesh pocket in the waistband. Nice soft fabric, good build quality, no worse than other top brands like the speedometers I own. The drawstring goes all the way through the waist so it's not just for show like some other toddler shorts I've bought, they really do the job when needed. Great shorts and they get the picky 4 year old's approval.
