Bought an 8 pack thinking it would be enough to either line the bottom of the Rtic 45 with ice on it or just put it in a Yeti backpack to throw. Started to melt in the backpack after a few hours in the sun, but didn't think much of it since it's just a backpack and not hard coolers. Then I decided to test it in a hard cooler and was quite disappointed. I laid out the bottom with all 8 (btw you need at least 10 for rtic45 or probably yeti) with ice on it. It was several hours in the sun that day and I decided to leave the ice and backpacks there to see how they hold up. The next day, around the same time I first charged it, about 1/3 of the ice had melted and all the backpacks were either half or not fully frozen. So I'd say they're not bad for a picnic or maybe keeping your lunch cold, but you'd better eat more of them if you plan to go to the beach.
