I have used Michelin Airstop tubes for many years for two reasons: 1) They hold air much better than standard tubes. I air 2-3 times a month on my carbon commuter with 23c tires. 2) They resist punctures much better than standard tubing. I can't count the number of times I've encountered some kind of plastic or glass and ended up stopping to scrape dirt out of a tire, only to have it leave a hole in the tire's body while the tube doesn't show any puncture. People often complain about slippery bars. I use slick 40mm bars on 30mm rims and have never had a problem with affordably buying a pump that I can bite into. It's all about not being an idiot.
